He has characterized Democrats as “at best Ewoks,” mocked Mr. Obama for acting as though he were posing for “a coin” and hailed MoveOn.org sardonically for “10 years of making even people who agree with you cringe.”

It’s fun to watch people speculate about the magical, super-high-tech inner workings of the show. Truth is, it’s less about technology or cutting-edge production and more about the staff being really good at their jobs.
