The first ruled. The second one kind of… sucked, but in a watchable way. This looks fun.

Ford to charge $700 premium for Ecoboost

Ford to charge $700 premium for Ecoboost – Autoblog

Brett Hinds, Ford’s advanced engine design manager, said the 3.5L V6 Ecoboost slated for F-150 duty in 2010 would produce “significantly more” than 340 hp and 340 lb-ft, which easily bests the 300 ponies delivered by the truck’s current top shelf 5.4L V8. A similar story will unfold with boosted four-pots, as V6 power is attainable with small displacement fuel economy.

Jon Stewart – The Most Trusted Man in America?

Writing by Chris on Sunday, 17 of August , 2008 at 9:57 pm

Television – The Most Trusted Man in America? – NYTimes.com

For all its eviscerations of the administration, “The Daily Show” is animated not by partisanship but by a deep mistrust of all ideology. A sane voice in a noisy red-blue echo chamber, Mr. Stewart displays an impatience with the platitudes of both the right and the left and a disdain for commentators who, as he made clear in a famous 2004 appearance on CNN’s “Crossfire,” parrot party-line talking points and engage in knee-jerk shouting matches. He has characterized Democrats as “at best Ewoks,” mocked Mr. Obama for acting as though he were posing for “a coin” and hailed MoveOn.org sardonically for “10 years of making even people who agree with you cringe.”

I’m trying this for my next long computer session. No? Not going to help?
A spoonful of baking soda DOES speed you up, say scientists | Mail Online

Baking soda appears to work best to enhance speed. A study at Loughborough University found that of nine swimmers who took baking soda before an event, eight reduced their times, the Times reports.

The Daily Show and their TiVos

The Daily Show and their TiVos | PVRblog

Just so you know I’m not pulling all this out of my ass, I was a researcher at the show for a couple years and still visit the office from time to time. It’s fun to watch people speculate about the magical, super-high-tech inner workings of the show. Truth is, it’s less about technology or cutting-edge production and more about the staff being really good at their jobs.

Obituaries

Obituaries – Vallejo Times Herald

Dolores had no hobbies, made no contribution to society and rarely shared a kind word or deed in her life. I speak for the majority of her family when I say her presence will not be missed by many, very few tears will be shed and there will be no lamenting over her passing.

Jon Stewart – The Most Trusted Man in America?

Writing by Chris on Saturday, 16 of August , 2008 at 9:31 pm

Television – The Most Trusted Man in America? – NYTimes.com

“Hopefully the process is to spot things that would be grist for the funny mill,” Mr. Stewart, 45, said. “In some respects, the heavier subjects are the ones that are most loaded with opportunity because they have the most — you know, the difference between potential and kinetic energy? — they have the most potential energy, so to delve into that gives you the largest combustion, the most interest. I don’t mean for the audience. I mean for us. Everyone here is working too hard to do stuff we don’t care about.”

Nine Nations of North America

Writing by Chris on Saturday, 16 of August , 2008 at 8:16 pm

That makes way too much sense.
Nine Nations of North America – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nine Nations of North America is a book written in 1981 by Joel Garreau. In it, Garreau argues that North America can be divided into nine regions, or “nations”, which have distinctive economic and cultural features. He argues that conventional national and state borders are largely artificial and irrelevant, and that his “nations” provide a more accurate way of understanding the true nature of North American society.

Like a Daredevil… – Daredevil Cartoon Idea from the 90’s

Writing by Chris on Wednesday, 13 of August , 2008 at 3:57 pm

Marvel.com Blogs – Blah Blah Blog by Tom Brevoort

As in the comics, Matt Murdock is a blind lawyer who is secretly Daredevil. (Unlike the comics, he has dark black hair, at least if the presentation drawing is anything to go by.) By day, he pals around with his teenaged niece and his seeing-eye-dog. But when evil strikes, he becomes Daredevil, his dog becomes Lightning, the Super Dog ( I love teh way, in teh production drawing, Lightning affects a pose of mild-manneredness in his civilian guise as Matt’s seeing-eye dog…), and the three of them take to the streets in Daredevil’s specially-equipped van.

Now, stop and think about this for a minute: who’s driving the van? Is it the blind guy, the underage girl, or the seeing-eye dog?

Anyway, once they find a crime in progress among the rooftops—which is where most of the crime in New York City typically takes place—Matt moves to the back of the van to the giant cannon, which unfolds from the top. And then, his niece launches him skyward…like a Daredevil…

About Me

This is it. I'm not looking to become an Internet star, or buy a house off by adsense moneyz. Though I am willing to go with the flow on either.

You may have noticed that I am not a graphic designer. Or a real programmer. Or race car driver, though that may not be as obvious from the site itself. I apologize for any mistakes, ommisions, or eye gouging graphics choices I may have perpetrated on anyone through ths page
