Better off not dead: Lane Meyers’ Camaro lives

Writing by Chris on Monday, 16 of July , 2007 at 12:16 pm

If I had the money…

Sometime in the late 80s, according to a guy named Jeff, he saw the John Cusack movie “Better Off Dead,” nd he fell in love with Lane Meyers’ restored ‘67 Camaro. Who didn’t, right?

Jeff, however, took his crush a little further, perhaps to the extent some might call stalking. He set out to find that car, and, if possible, bring it home.

Charlie Bartlett

Writing by Chris on Sunday, 15 of July , 2007 at 9:18 am

There is a pretty funny trailer up for Charlie Bartlett.  It looks like a fairly standard “teen coming of age” high school flick, with a little style.  They have a Green and a Red trailer.  The Red does an age verification, but the only differences I noticed was some more mentions of drugs and a kiss.

Wealthy teenager Charlie Bartlett is failing miserably at fitting in at
a new public high school run by the world-weary Principal Gardner. As
he begins to better understand the social hierarchy, Charlie’s honest
charm and likability positions him as the resident “psychiatrist”
dishing out advice, and the occasional prescription with his partner
and fellow student, Murphy Bivens, to other students in need. Along the
way, he decides to take some of his own advice, find romance, and learn
to accept who he is, thus wielding a witty dark comedy about the
angst-filled years before college

A Picture of the GOP on Civil Rights

Writing by Chris on Friday, 13 of July , 2007 at 5:09 pm

The NAACP invited all 9 Republican Presidential candidates.  And…

The resulting photo of Tancredo–standing on a stage of empty
podiums–sums up the Republican party’s commitment to civil rights in
America:  the only Republican interested is the guy running to deny
immigrant workers their rights.

Rise and fall of a comic genius

Writing by Chris on Thursday, 12 of July , 2007 at 12:13 pm

I think the writer is a little harsh, but they make some good points.

The Simpsons evolved into a dreadfully predictable monster. With each new series came the same questions. Which foreign country will the family just happen to end up visiting this time? Which pop star will the family just happen to encounter while there? And what unsubtle bit of physical violence will Homer be subjected to en route? Contract leprosy, perhaps; get raped by a panda; or maybe get his head trapped between two halves of a lowering drawbridge?

Grocery closings hit Detroit hard

Writing by Chris on Thursday, 12 of July , 2007 at 12:09 pm

When even Wal-Mart won’t do business in your city…

“There is only one store in the city I’ll pick up some stuff at, but my kids jokingly call it the ‘ghetto store’ because everything is subpar,” he said. “Some of these stores make the argument that they are catering to black clientele, so they have to make room to carry stuff like ham hocks and chitterlings, but that’s just an excuse for bad quality.

We Love to Fly and It Shows: Inside the World of Mileage Running

Writing by Chris on Wednesday, 11 of July , 2007 at 2:03 pm

That is just wrong.

Mileage runners are the high-tech nomadic wanderers of the air. Predominantly male, generally obsessed with flying and miles, and typically employed in white-collar careers that involve significant business travel, they scour the web for cheap flights, phoning in sick or using vacation days to fly the longest itineraries they can string together.

A Letter to Optimus Prime From His GEICO Auto Insurance Agent.

Writing by Chris on Tuesday, 10 of July , 2007 at 6:36 am

I always wondered…

To sum up, GEICO has been unable to reimburse you for any repairs, but due to the high number of accidents you have been a party to this month, combined with the many accidents you have had in the preceding five months, your premium has increased to $235,567.50 per month. While that may seem like a lot, I remind you that it is a savings of $137 over Progressive and $98 over State Farm. Please have your check into our main office by the end of July.

Psychology Today: Ten Politically Incorrect Truths About Human Nature

Writing by Chris on Sunday, 8 of July , 2007 at 10:32 pm

There where a few interesting points.

This means two things. First, our thoughts, feelings, and behavior are produced not only by our individual experiences and environment in our own lifetime but also by what happened to our ancestors millions of years ago. Second, our thoughts, feelings, and behavior are shared, to a large extent, by all men or women, despite seemingly large cultural differences.

About Me

This is it. I'm not looking to become an Internet star, or buy a house off by adsense moneyz. Though I am willing to go with the flow on either.

You may have noticed that I am not a graphic designer. Or a real programmer. Or race car driver, though that may not be as obvious from the site itself. I apologize for any mistakes, ommisions, or eye gouging graphics choices I may have perpetrated on anyone through ths page
