I got a chance to check out the first episode of Primeval. British SciFi still isn’t up to snuff budget wise with American SciFi, but the still seem to know how to make a fun show. I’m hoping it ends up being more Dr. Who than Torchwood. I’m getting the second two episodes now.
When strange anomalies in time start to appear all over England, Professor Cutter and his team have to help track down and capture all sorts of dangerous prehistoric creatures from Earth’s distant past.

Warren Ellis posted some quotes from the back cover of his new book on his mailing list. I really want this book now.
The back-cover quotes so far:
“Crooked Little Vein is perfect Warren Ellis — ruthless,
unforgiving, and oddly beautifully bitterly human. Plus
it’s packed with all my favorite references: porn theories,
Alan Alda, seventy-one year old serial killers, and an
alternate U.S. Constitution bound in alien skin. Get
ready for a wonderful kick in the teeth that’ll make you
lick your bloody lip with masochistic joy.â€
— Brad Meltzer, New York Times bestselling author of The Book of Fate
“I think this book ate my soul. Warren Ellis has mapped
out the psycho-sexual underbelly of America with a
foreigner’s clarity and a lunatic’s glee. Funny, inventive
and blithely appalling, this book is Dante on paint fumes.â€
— Joss Whedon, creator, writer and director of the Buffy
the Vampire Slayer series
“Warren Ellis writes like a bi-polar Raymond Chandler.
Crooked Little Vein injects at least two welcome elements
into the tired, clogged mystery field: a a little death and a
little life. It’s also funny enough to make you shit standing.â€
- Kinky Friedman, author of Ten Little New Yorkers

Brad and Joss are very kind. Kinky Friedman I do not know,
but I seriously owe that man a Montecristo now.
You’ll all be eBaying my skin flakes and bodily fluids before
you know it. And becoming rich from it. Rich like astronauts.
And you will drive across continents while wearing nappies/diapers
just to see my face, also like astronauts.

I always got the feeling that Stephen King was in it for the money, but its weird to hear him talk about it.
Usually, about movies, I don’t give much of a shit. My attitude is ‘go make the movie and if it’s good, that’s terrific, and if it’s bad, well then it will go to the video store, the back shelves of Blockbuster, and I still get royalties on the book.’ I don’t care that much.

I can’t imagine what else you can add to a movie to make it great.
- Its a SciFi channel original.
- It has Stephen Baldwin, the second most talented of the Baldwins.
- It has Dirk “Faceman” Benedict.
- It has a tagline that is just amazing:
Man once landed on the moon.
Now the moon is landing on us.

There are some good entries in this contest.
In tonight’s contest, we’re going to have a little fun with product tampering. Everything is saftey sealed for our protection now, so it’s already pretty easy to tell if something has been tampered with, but we’re asking you to make it *really* obvious, as in microfracture’s themepost.
