Comics Price Guide

Writing by Chris on Wednesday, 26 of July , 2006 at 11:48 pm

For anyone who hasn't clicked on the banners, SHAME!.  The comics price guide lets you select from a database of most major comic titles, with cover art, to price and organize your selection online.  The free account limits how many books you can add to your collection, but the pay accounts are pretty reasonable. You can also buy and sell comics, and add comics to you wanted/wishlist.

ComicsPriceGuide.com

Currently I have about 1 long box entered:

Comics: 325 Worth: $1,121.70

YouTube has Porn Clone

Writing by Chris on Wednesday, 26 of July , 2006 at 12:16 pm

The interface isn't quite there yet, but its a good start.

PornoTube offers on demand Flash videos (our sponsor Adobe will be proud I’m sure) of user uploaded pornography, including video, audio and photgraphs. The site is surprisingly well designed and has social features like rating, commenting, etc. All videos are tagged and can be browsed via a tag cloud or by straight or gay content. There are RSS feeds for various categories. Videos can also be embedded into other sites.

The mesmerizing ad for HeadOn.

Writing by Chris on Wednesday, 26 of July , 2006 at 8:37 am

I appreciate simplicity in my ads.

A woman rubs what appears to be a glue stick across her forehead. The voice-over repeats one sentence in triplicate: "HeadOn: Apply directly to the forehead. HeadOn: Apply directly to the forehead. HeadOn: Apply directly to the forehead." We cut to an image of the product in its packaging, while the voice-over tells us that "HeadOn is available without a prescription at retailers nationwide."

Warner Bros offers TV shows on Apple’s iTunes

Writing by Chris on Wednesday, 26 of July , 2006 at 7:35 am

Nothing to see here, its just more TV… they are offering the unaired Aquaman pilot?  Really? Dawson's Creak with a guy that can talk to fishes?  For only a buck?

I've wondered why we don't see more of this ever since the networks started selling their shows on iTunes.  I tend to scan the p2p networks (and not YouTube and Google Video) for unaired pilots and such.  I would have paid $0.99 for Lookwell or Global Frequency, or many other shows that they already paid to produce, but never let see the light of day.

Warner Bros put up a total of 113 episodes of "Friends," sci-fi series "Babylon 5," the animated classics "The Jetsons" and "The Flintstones," as well as skits from "MADtv" and an unaired pilot called "Aquaman" by the writers of "Smallville."

Two Thumbs Up: Roeper and Kevin Smith

Writing by Chris on Tuesday, 25 of July , 2006 at 8:31 pm

I'd watch that.  I figure this is a good chance to pander appeal, to a different audience. I expect to see some blog writers and people that bring in a younger/hipper demographic, like Smith.  I wouldn't be shocked to see some Tarantino, or maybe some AICN staffers.

Word from Kevin Smith on his online diary is that he will be sitting in as a guest critic on Ebert and Roeper next week, subbing in for Roger Ebert, who is still recovering following post-surgery complications. Smith says he and Richard Roeper will be discussing The Ant Bully, Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Miami Vice, Barnyard, and perhaps World Trade Center.

Fisherman speared by blue marlin off Bermuda

Writing by Chris on Tuesday, 25 of July , 2006 at 3:18 pm

"A fucking shark ate me!"

Card and his father, Alan, both operators of a charter fishing boat and experienced marlin fishermen, had just hooked the fish Saturday when it suddenly leapt out of the water, impaled Ian Card just below his collar bone and knocked him into the ocean.

How to use Google to get a girl and get laid

Writing by Chris on Tuesday, 25 of July , 2006 at 8:20 am

I hadn't considered the adwords angle.  I think all of us have used the rest.  Right?  Not just me?

This article is about using the many Google sites and applications to get yourself a girl and get yourself laid. In it we’re going to use a guy called Johnny McCool. Johnny is a 22 year old Internet nerd. He works as a programmer with some megacorp, went straight from the computer labs in college to the cubicle farm. He needs to get out more and he needs a girlfriend.

Kevin Smith Slams Bryan Singer’s Superman for Not Being Gay Enough

Writing by Chris on Tuesday, 25 of July , 2006 at 8:15 am

OK, first of all, it doesn't sounds like a slam. It sounds like what we like to call a joke.  And mostly he talks about like how 'mutant' was just an allagory for 'gay' in the X-Men movies.

"I was really looking forward to him doing the third one because it would be an out-and-out gay fantasia–I was hoping that the dude would go for a kind of ‘Brokeback Mutant’ kind of movie, but he opted to do Superman."

Mindshock - Feral Children

Writing by Chris on Tuesday, 25 of July , 2006 at 7:56 am

Weird.  It sounds like a Enquirer story, but its played straight.

Imagine you were brought up by animals or without any contact with humans. What would you be like? Would you be wild forever or would you have any chance of readjusting and once again entering the human world? In 2001 the world was stunned by film of a Ukrainian girl who had been brought up by dogs.

About Me

This is it. I'm not looking to become an Internet star, or buy a house off by adsense moneyz. Though I am willing to go with the flow on either.

You may have noticed that I am not a graphic designer. Or a real programmer. Or race car driver, though that may not be as obvious from the site itself. I apologize for any mistakes, ommisions, or eye gouging graphics choices I may have perpetrated on anyone through ths page
