X3 Magneto Shot Deleted

Writing by Chris on Tuesday, 23 of May , 2006 at 6:58 pm

Come on Pookey, lets burn this mother fucker down.

"I think that was something that I came up with, which is because originally—and you will probably see this on the DVD—my original concept for Magneto was to have him like Che Guevara when we first saw him, … in military fatigues with a long beard because he has been in hiding," Ratner said in an interview here. "I actually did a shot where he was in that underground lair with the long beard, and he’s sitting there, and Pyro [Aaron Stanford] comes in and says, ‘They’ve announced a cure.’

The Water Rush

Writing by Chris on Tuesday, 23 of May , 2006 at 3:35 pm

Water tasting?  Really?  I’m more of a "If its not brown, drink it down." kinda guy, but whatever floats your boat… get it?  Water!  Boat!?  Ah screw it.

But Arthur von Wiesenberger considers the goings-on anything but silly. When I first met him in Santa Barbara, it took him about ten minutes to convince me that water tasting, when done properly, is not only a practice on the rise but a legitimate pursuit. Uneducated about wine, uninterested in cigars, and unrefined when it comes to most every other epicurean delight, I was won over by Arthur’s unpretentiousness and confident sensibility. This international water tasting struck me as a good opportunity to set myself upon on an odd but promising and uncrowded path toward a new afición.

Worth 1000: Monster ModRen 4

Writing by Chris on Tuesday, 23 of May , 2006 at 2:32 pm

There was some gold in this contest.

rembrant meets war of the worlds

Few people know that after illustrating Don Quixote Picasso’s next project was Aliens Vs Predator…

This contest askes a simple question: If the renaissance took place in more recent times, and the models were famous movie monsters/aliens, what would the artwork have looked like?

Its Mr. T’s Birthday

Writing by Chris on Sunday, 21 of May , 2006 at 10:51 am

I pity the fool that doesn’t celebrate.  I used a real quote below, but I couldn’t pass up a chance to get a Mr. T fact going.

When Mr. T looks at a Magic-Eye illusion, the image changes into a crying child and it never changes back.

I think about my father being called ‘boy’, my uncle being called ‘boy’, my brother, coming back from Vietnam and being called ‘boy’. So I questioned myself: ‘What does a black man have to do before he’s given the respect as a man?’ So when I was 18 years old, when I was old enough to fight and die for my country, old enough to drink, old enough to vote, I said I was old enough to be called a man. I self-ordained myself Mr. T so the first word out of everybody’s mouth is ‘Mr.’ That’s a sign of respect that my father didn’t get, that my brother didn’t get, that my mother didn’t get.

Baghdad’s Lionel Richie Obsession

Writing by Chris on Saturday, 20 of May , 2006 at 9:27 am

Really?

Grown Iraqi men get misty-eyed by the mere mention of his name. "I love Lionel Richie," they say. Iraqis who do not understand a word of English can sing an entire Lionel Richie song.

Stone Golem

Writing by Chris on Friday, 19 of May , 2006 at 9:25 am

OK, I would like to make fun of them for doing it, but it looks to cool to riducule.

This Stone Golem was constructed using about 5 foam mattresses, over 50 sticks of hot melt glue, and 8 cans of grey and black spray paint. The foam is glued in large thick sheets (approx 20cm thick) to a fabric bodysuit, and the deep cracks are carved into the foam surface. The bodysuit has a zip up the back to allow the wearer to enter it, and the zip is concealed by abutting foam. The soles of the feet are made of corflute that has been sliced in half to expose corrugations that act as grip. The arms are about twice the length of the wearer\’s arms, and act as swinging weapons made entirely of soft foam. The golem took about 100 hours of work to construct, between 3 people. On its first appearance, the Stone Golem sent twenty bold adventurers into a hasty retreat without so much as touching them.

The Windows XP Command Line, Batch Files, and Scripting

Writing by Chris on Thursday, 18 of May , 2006 at 1:53 pm

Some useful stuff there.

The Windows command line is a mainstay for systems administrators and power users but is relatively unknown to many PC users. The purpose of this site is to make the power and utility of the command line more familiar to a wider community of computer users. Also under-appreciated are the related resources of batch files and scripts and these will be discussed as well.

Gotham Girls

Writing by Chris on Thursday, 18 of May , 2006 at 1:49 pm

I’ve been a big fan of the Harley/Ivy pairing since Batman: TAS.

Gotham Girls is an American animated Flash cartoon series created and produced jointly by Warner Brothers and Noodle Soup Productions about the females of Gotham City. Episodes starred Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Batgirl and Catwoman in short stories of varying length about the daily lives of the characters (from the DC comics universe).

About Me

This is it. I'm not looking to become an Internet star, or buy a house off by adsense moneyz. Though I am willing to go with the flow on either.

You may have noticed that I am not a graphic designer. Or a real programmer. Or race car driver, though that may not be as obvious from the site itself. I apologize for any mistakes, ommisions, or eye gouging graphics choices I may have perpetrated on anyone through ths page
