If he at least got the digits, it was totally worth it.
On Aug. 14, 1945, Jones, a 16-year-old messenger in Washington, D.C., was entrusted to deliver to the White House the cable announcing Japan’s surrender to the United States to end World War II.
Unaware of his cargo’s import, the boy, in cavalier teenage fashion, put work on hold to eat pancakes at a diner, hang out with his friends and flirt with waitresses.

Justice League Unlimmited and Teen Titans are dead, but "The Batman" soldiers on? Bastards. There are some interesting things coming though.
A new Legion of Superheroes series is in the works, and though they said the show was still unnamed, CN did say the new show would include Superboy. A new Fantastic Four series produced in France by Marvel is also on the way. Also, as previously reported, Ultimate Avengers will air on Toonami April 15, while Ultimate Avengers 2 and Iron Man will air this fall.

Natalie Portamn with an Easy-E flow? I’m down with that.
Natalie raps. This is f**king great. Even better than Lazy Sunday. The Lonely Island dudes are the only reason to watch SNL.

Bill was a pimp in the 70s and is a pimp today.
As seen below, O’Reilly was pictured on the shopper’s cover in some fly 70s finery–fur collared-coat, dark shirt/dark tie combo, moptop, and what appears to be muttonchops.

I’m actually looking at a few American cars now, but only the strange looking ones.
Japanese carmakers — or, more specifically, Honda followed by Toyota and Subaru — took all ten spots in this year’s Consumer Reports magazine top picks.

Practical cars are all well and good, but if I had a few billion I would go with something a little bit more… assholish. I want people to hate me without even knowing who I am. Not like how I have to meet people individually and give them time to hate me.
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates drives a seven-year-old 1999 Porsche 911 Convertible and a 1988 Porsche 959 Coupe. The other half of the Microsoft duo, Paul Allen, also drives a 1988 Porsche 959 Coupe, as well as a 1988 Mazda B-Series Pickup.

I’m there.
…but there’s one movie coming out in 2006 that completely blows me away. This movie is going to redefine cinema as we know it. This movie is going to be the most important film of the 21st century. This movie is about snakes. This movie is about planes. This movie is about what happens when one is on the other.
This movie is Snakes on a Plane.

I have been using DB Designer for a while, but for some reason I hadn’t been using it to build join tables and foreign indexes automatically.
Because I am an idiot. If you are using Ruby on Rails, you may also want to check out the dbmodel generator. It will build your models from the DBDesigner XML file, including your has_many/belongs_to relationships.
"DBDesigner 4 is a free available database design system that integrates database design, modeling, creation and maintenance into a single, seamless environment.
It is written for Microsoft© Windows 2k/XP© and Linux KDE/Gnome to support both, the Windows and the Linux platform."

Ugly, but you could spend a few more dollars prettying it up if that’s your thing.
Pictures of a MAME cabinet I built. Nothing fancy, just a simple box with the minimum number of controls needed to play the older games. Source material for Adventures in MAME. Total cost of purchased materials: ~$100.
